Hi there! My name is Samantha Nienow, and I'm thrilled to be working with you as you prepare to deliver a great talk on the red dot. I've helped over 150 TEDx speakers prepare for the TEDx stage. I'll be helping you with both your core idea development and making your slides fantastic! Below is an overview of the work we'll be doing together over the next 12 weeks.

TEDxStCloud Talk Creation and Slide Deck Design
Meeting #1 (9-14 weeks before the event): 60-Minute video conference session
The first meeting is a get-to-know-you session. We'll talk about your initial TEDx ideas (it's okay not to know precisely how your talk with go at this point). I will ask you a series of questions to help construct the core idea of your talk. After the meeting, I will send you 2–3 drafts of your core idea based on our conversation and guide what to do next. Meeting #2 (7-14 days weeks after the initial mtg): 60-Minute video conference session At our second meeting, we'll talk through the drafts of your core idea and create a rough outline of how the talk could go. Your ideas may have changed since the initial conversation after doing digging into the ideas—that's okay. The second meeting will be focused on honing the core idea of the talk to build a solid outline. After the meeting, I will revise the core idea statement based on the conversation, create a rough outline of how the talk could flow at a high level with content prompts, and offer guidance on what to do next. The goal at the end of the second meeting is to give you enough information to create a complete draft of your talk. Between meeting #2 and meeting #3 with Sam, please schedule a time with Brian Hart to review your talk at a high level. This helps the TEDxStCloud planning team prepare for the event.
Meeting #3 (4-6 weeks before the event): 60-Minute video conference session
Schedule this meeting when your talk is getting close the right length, and you can talk through your ideas from beginning to end. During this meeting, I will listen to you do your talk from start to finish and offer feedback about potential gaps in the script or areas that may be unclear or confusing. If you choose to have slides, we'll also review the slides you have so far. After the meeting, I will polish your slides and make sure they complement your talk, are in compliance with TEDx rules, and look fantastic! Meeting #4 (1-2 weeks before the event): 60-Minute video conference session At our final meeting together, we'll do a complete run-through of your talk with your slides (we'll be using Zoom conferencing so that you can share your screen). This session is for honing any last minute details and practicing syncing your story with the slides so it begins to feel natural. I will also share tips on managing nerves and being your boldest self on stage! |
